Breathe 8/10

Breathe by Abbi Glines

Rating: 7.5/10
This book is about a girl named Sadie White who, because her mother is pregnant and does not have an income, gets a job as a staff hand at a mansion. But this is not just any mansion, it is the mansion of successful every-girls-fantasy rock star Jax Stone. Sadie is not interested in having a relationship as she has so much on her plate and can not put her job on the line for some guy. However, there is something about Jax that she can't stay away from - yeah you get where I'm going? It's one of those books.
This book is a guilty pleasure. It is pure romance; boy meets girl falls in love etc. But before you pass it off to go read an I'd-rather-watch-paint-dry biography, read the first 3 chapters. You get hooked. I read this book in a day and only stopped for basic necessities- it's that addictive. Even though it is corny at times, it was refreshing to forget about life and get involved in some non-important drama. It brought out my girly side and got me emotionally invested and a book that does that is doing pretty well. So I do recommend if you are open to a romance novel!!! If you just scoffed at this whole review and are a close minded person, I also recommend this book for you- because it is refreshing and whilst I was skeptical about this book, it exceeded my expectations and made for a good, quick read.
NOTE: Abbi Glines says this book is apart of a series, and it is, but not in the way that you're thinking. You do not have to read the books in order or even at all. Each book is its own story and explanations of everything. The series just shares characters e.g. Sam and Sally fall in love. Sam's best friend is called Simon - in the next book in the series Simon will find his true love with Samantha- so the stories are different, characters similar.
