"Set in the fictional country of Ravka, there is a form of magic that exists known as The Small Science. Those who can wield it are called Grisha, powerful practitioners considered to be a part of an exclusive class." - this explanation is better than anything I could do so here is a snippet.
This series follows a girl named Alina Starkov who has grown up completely normal and unnoticed in an orphanage. One day whilst trying to protect her super attractive hunk of a friend from being killed by a monster on the Shadow Fold (a large area of darkness full of cannibalistic monsters accidentally created by a Grisha many years ago) she reveals a power that she didn't even know about and thus leads her into the world of the Grisha where she might be the only thing able to save her world.
This series is A+ amazing. Leigh Bardugo has done an awesome job in all three books. None of the books are a let down and I was really intrigued the entire trilogy!! Also, there are so many attractive guys in the series- The Darkling, Mal, Nikolai (he comes in the second book and luckily stays for the third) ahhhhhh. Definitely recommend! You will not regret this trilogy. I love books that bring out emotion in me and throughout the series I was always feeling happy or worried or in love etc. I cried 3 times in the last book (which has one of the best book endings I have ever read. Seriously- it's original, sad, happy, EVERYTHING!Click here to see the Grisha series on Goodreads
