Delirium Trilogy by Lauren Oliver
Trilogy about Lena, a girl who lives in a love-expelled dystopian society where the government rules love a disease which people call 'deliria'. When you turn 18 you have to have the cure- an operation which stops you from ever loving. The story circles a girl called Lena who has always wanted to have the operation because her mum was infected with the 'disease of love' and killed herself. Yet when she meets a boy (Alex) a couple of months from her operation and starts to fall in love, she doesn't know if she actually wants to be cured.
I really love the idea of this book (pun intended). Lauren Oliver writes really well and she set up the whole dystopian scene in an understandable way! Buuuuutt, Book 1 ends on a ohmagodwhatdafuqwhy moment- which is good because it keeps you on edge but it means that you CANNOT READ THE SERIES UNLESS YOU INTEND TO READ ALL 3. So lazy people who only read the first books of series, go away now. Overall I loved the series and I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a YA distopian romance to become addicted to. And also, the movie is coming out soon and Emma Roberts is in it so I hope its good (the trailer looks shit though).
