The Partials Trilogy by Dan Wells
Book 1: Partials 5.5/10, Book 2: Fragments 4/10, Book 3: Ruins 6/10A dystopian post-apocalyptic trilogy about a girl named Kira who lives in a world where all 20 or something thousand humans died from a deadly disease that is still killing newborn babies as the newborns are not immune- thus, the number of humans is slowly diminishing. The immune survivors live in a town on Long Island. The humans are stuck on this island because the mainland is Partial territory (partials are human-like super soldiers) and the humans are at war with them. Both races are dying- the humans babies are not immune, and the partials have an expiry date of 20 years (which is right now in the book). Kira is trying to find a cure and to do that she needs these enemies to work together and discover who the Partials really are.
This series is a real drag. I felt like Dan Wells should have just written one book because I there is so much stuff that is boring- like all the journey's she takes which are so long and irrelevant. Don't get me wrong, there are some good parts, but there are so many better choices of book series out there. The series raises too many questions and gives not enough answers so I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Woah man harsh on Partials! I really enjoyed it because it was different than most other post apocalyptic novels. She's not some superstar chosen one, and the science and medical knowledge came off really realistically. However, I'll grant you that it dragged out one books worth over three series, but I'd still give it at least a 6.5/10!
ReplyDeleteI see what you mean. The first book is probably better than I gave it, I am just swayed by the other two books because I really disliked them. Yeah I thought it was good that she wasn't some amazing superwoman 'chosen one' as well- made her more realistic/relatable. THX FOR THE FEEDBACK SOUL SISTER
